Dear HPSO Members,
Sara Liston, longtime HPSO member and my life partner of 35 years, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023 in our Corvallis home. Her obituary can be found here:

Sara loved visiting open gardens and specialty nurseries; she was greatly inspired by trips to English gardens in the 1990s and the few HPSO study weekends that we attended. But Sara was a very private person and she never felt comfortable opening her garden to the public.
I am hosting an Open Garden for family, friends and neighbors from 9am-5pm May 20 and 21. The address is 615 NW Witham Drive, Corvallis. Even if you did not know Sara personally, please feel free to drop by and see the diverse, compact garden that Sara created. The weather has conspired so that the irises of late March, the peonies and lilies of early June, and everything in between, are all blooming at once. It will be beautiful.
