Subject : Volunteering for Elderly Gardeners..

Hi! I am new to the Hardy Plant Society and recently retired. For the last couple of years, I have been interested in volunteering to help elderly gardeners who can no longer manage their gardens and cannot afford professional help. My goal would be to bring a neglected garden back to life and maintain it for elderly gardeners who are trying to stay in their homes and their garden has turned from a joy to a burden. I was wondering if any Hardy Plant Society members or small neighborhood groups are already doing something like this?

Hi Jackie
I don’t see any replies to your suggestion which I think is a great one! I live in SW with a half acre garden that I struggle to maintain. If I had some help it would make the chores so much more pleasant! Occasionally helping fellow gardeners in the same boat would be very productive.
I’d love to know if you have had any luck in your neighborhood.

This is such an awesome idea. I'm also very interested to hear how this turns out for you.
I'm a new director on the board and am looking forward to serving. I have a one garden that is aprox. 8 years old.
