Does anyone know if a tool exists to shear tall hedges without having to use scaffolding or something like that? I already have pole pruners. They can only snip individual stems and small branches. But, I need something like a battery-operated shearing tool that can reach high up on shrubs. Even with a ladder, it is difficult to trim some hedges and trees that are out of reach. Any ideas? Does something like that exist?

There are both corded and cordless models available. I got a corded one a couple of years ago, and it has made trimming our hedges much easier and faster. The extra reach means I don't have to move the ladder as much, and it can reach the sides of a tall hedge. The drawback is that the motor is at the cutting end, so the further it is extended, the heavier is feels due to increased leverage.
